The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) internship programme is aimed at motivated students with an interest in gaining experience in international organisations. The programme normally provides work placements in the Technical Secretariat for a three to six month period. The objective of the internship is to provide students with first-hand experience in the day-to-day working environment of an international organisation. Students will work with international experts towards the OPCW mission to achieve a world permanently free of chemical weapons.
As part of the OPCW, working directly with outstanding and inspiring career professionals, you will be exposed to high-profile conferences, participate in meetings, and contribute to the analytical work as well as the organisational policy of the OPCW.

The Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) was set up in 1996 with its Headquarters at the Vienna International Centre. It is an interim organization tasked with building up the verification regime of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) in preparation for the Treaty's entry into force as well as promoting the Treaty's universality.

The Preparatory Commission consists of two main organs: a plenary body composed of all States Signatories and the Provisional Technical Secretariat (PTS) which assists the plenary body in carrying out its activities. The CTBTO is headed by the Executive Secretary, Robert Floyd.
As the implementing body for the Chemical Weapons Convention, the OPCW, with its 193 Member States, oversees the global endeavour to permanently eliminate chemical weapons. Since the Convention’s entry into force in 1997, it is the most successful disarmament treaty eliminating an entire class of weapons of mass destruction.
Over 98% of all declared chemical weapon stockpiles have been destroyed under OPCW verification. For its extensive efforts in eliminating chemical weapons, the OPCW received the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize.
